What is s-Note useful for? s-Note allows encrypting private notes into an image, actual in a JPEG image. Each note consists of a text message and a collection of attached contacts or calendar events (from release 3.2). You may protect you back pin code, your home or company alarm system code, your bank and assurance user and password, contacts you have or even appointment information, and so on.

What about the image format supported? s-Note support classical bitmap (BMP, png, …) and compressed images (jpg) available on a smartphone, basically photo taken with the camera. s-Note does not support the Live Photo or HDD format.

Why should I use it? s-Note allows hiding personal info into an image: in a place that anyone can look at but no one can watch into, in the Internet time. s-Note increases the security of your personal data as it introduces two additional protection levels that make access to your private info much more difficult for malicious hacking attackers. The first level is the AES encryption, the second is F5 steganography.

What is the maximum size of my note? The size depends on image characteristics: size, color, gradient, image quality used. A high quality, large, a color image can store up to 4 MB: much more than what a note usually requires. Indeed, the capacity depends on a complex parameter of the JPEG format, that is, the number of non-null coefficients of the discrete cosine transformed (DCT).

May I share an image, and related note, with a private note with any friend? Yes, you can send it by email, and remind you must share the full-size image version. In fact, compressed versions lose the encrypted content.

Is s-Note available on any other smartphone such as Android? No, s-Note has been developed on iOS.

Is the private note protected by a personal password? Yes, it is. The personal password must be entered by the user to open any image. The password is used to encrypt the note and to inject it into the image.

May I restore the password just in case I forget it? No, it is not possible.
